The Wild Calling

The whispering voices
of wind on the moor
are verdant with meaning.
I want to know
as the heather knows,
as the rocks know,
as the brook knows
who carries the wind’s song to the sea.
For the voice without is the voice within,
woven with silence.

  1. I’ve been reading Ralph Waldo Emerson, and I hear his transcendentalism echoing in Brian’s poem. Lovely!
