To mark National Interfaith Week members of Hereford InterFaith Group group completed a 2-day, 60K round trip pilgrimage.
Wayne Gardner, a group member said, ” Pilgrimage is a common feature of all Faiths and offered opportunities for dialogue and sharing as the pilgrims walk along.”
The walkers braved wet and soggy country paths and slept in churches along the route. Following an old pilgrimage route to the West of Hereford City to the Welsh border, the group returned to assemble at the Cathedral where other members had erected a pop-up pancake stall to welcome them back.
Wayne added, “Pancakes were plentiful which attracted even more people on a damp Saturday afternoon. The whole event was an enriching experience and broke down many barriers of misunderstanding between Faiths .”
